  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Score the skin of the duck breast and rub with five-spice powder, soy sauce, and hoisin sauce.
  3. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and cook the duck breast, skin side down, for 5 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Flip the duck breast and cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from the pan and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Slice the duck breast into thin strips.
  7. In a separate pan, sauté garlic, ginger, and spring onions until fragrant.
  8. Add the sliced duck breast and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  9. Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut into circles.
  10. Place a spoonful of the duck mixture onto each pastry circle and fold in half, sealing the edges.
  11. Brush the pies with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  12. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
