Chicken Shepherd’s Pie
Shepherd’s Pie traditionally uses lamb, while Cottage Pie uses beef. The term ‘Shepherd’s Pie’ is often used interchangeably for both.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Boil the potatoes until tender, then mash them with butter and milk.

In a separate pan, cook the chicken until browned. Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, sauté the onion and garlic until softened.

Add the carrots, peas, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Cook for a few minutes.

Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir well.

Gradually add the chicken stock, stirring constantly until thickened.

Add the cooked chicken back to the pan and mix well.

Transfer the chicken mixture to a baking dish and top with the mashed potatoes.

Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the filling is bubbling.

Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
