Ingredients
  • 250 gram Pie crust
  • 500 gram Cherries
  • 150 gram Sugar
  • 30 gram Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 30 gram Butter
  • 1 egg Egg wash
  • 15 gram Powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Roll out the pie crust and line a pie dish with it.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cherries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the cherry mixture into the pie crust.
  5. Dot the top of the filling with butter.
  6. Cover the pie with the remaining pie crust, sealing the edges.
  7. Brush the top crust with egg wash.
  8. Make a few slits on the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 2 hours.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
