Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).

In a medium bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch (23 cm) springform pan to form the crust.

In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the springform pan.

Bake for 55-60 minutes or until the center is set and the top is lightly browned.

Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, run a knife around the edge of the pan to loosen the cake.

Remove the sides of the springform pan and let the cake cool completely.

Once the cake is cooled, spread the cherry pie filling over the top.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until chilled.

Serve chilled with whipped cream on top.
