Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Almond extract
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Cherries, pitted and halved
  • 1/4 cup Sliced almonds
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the melted butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the almond extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Fold in the cherries and sliced almonds.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Slice and serve.
