Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and yeast. Add the butter and rub it into the flour mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  2. Warm the milk in a saucepan until it is lukewarm. Add the milk and beaten egg to the flour mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll out the dough into a rectangle shape on a floured surface.
  6. Spread the cinnamon and raisins evenly over the dough. Roll up the dough tightly from the long side to form a log.
  7. Cut the log into 12 equal slices and place them in a greased baking dish.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes or until the buns are golden brown.
  9. In a small bowl, mix the icing sugar and lemon juice to make the glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the warm buns.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!
