  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut the butter into small cubes and add it to the flour mixture. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sour cream, egg, and milk.
  6. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  7. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times until it comes together.
  8. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle and cut out scones using a round biscuit cutter.
  9. Place the scones onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
