Carrot Patch Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a round cake pan.
-
In a bowl, combine grated carrots, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
-
In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
-
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate. Dip gummy worms into the melted chocolate, then place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let them cool and harden.
-
In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with a few drops of green food coloring to make green icing.
-
Once the cake has cooled, spread the green icing on top to resemble grass. Decorate with the chocolate-covered gummy worms to create a carrot patch.
-
Serve and enjoy!
