  2. In a saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar and cook until it melts and caramelizes.
  3. Pour the caramel into the greased cake pan. Arrange mango slices on top of the caramel.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. In a separate bowl, cream together remaining butter and granulated sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter over the mango slices in the cake pan.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
