Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add brown sugar and stir until dissolved. Add sliced bananas and cook until caramelized. Remove from heat.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, cream together 2 tablespoons of butter and granulated sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in coconut milk and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Pour the caramelized bananas into the bottom of a greased 9-inch round cake pan. Pour the cake batter over the bananas.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.

Serve with coconut whipped cream.
