Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter and brown sugar over medium heat until the mixture begins to bubble. Remove from heat and pour over the batter.
