  3. Add the eggs, pumpkin puree, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Top with half of the caramel sauce and pecans.
  7. Add the remaining batter, followed by the remaining caramel sauce and pecans.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
