  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour mixture, alternating with the sour cream. Fold in the chopped apples.
  5. Spread half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Drizzle with half of the caramel sauce and sprinkle with half of the chopped pecans. Repeat with the remaining batter, caramel sauce, and pecans.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
