Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.

Peel and slice the apples.

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust.

Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apple mixture.

Cut the butter into small pieces and scatter them over the top of the pie.

Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the filling.
