  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add cold butter, then use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in grated cheddar cheese.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
  6. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
