Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter. Repeat with the remaining batter and caramel sauce.

Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
