  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine blackberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
  4. Pour the blackberry mixture into the pie crust.
  5. Dot the top of the filling with small pieces of butter.
  6. Roll out the second pie crust and place it on top of the filling. Seal the edges and cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 1 hour before serving.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature.
