Ingredients
  • 8 ounce Brats sausages
  • 1.5 cup Dr Pepper
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 unit Eggs
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, bring the Dr Pepper to a boil. Add the brats sausages and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove the sausages and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar. Add the eggs and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Grease a cake pan and pour in the batter. Place the brats sausages on top of the batter.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy!
