Ingredients
  • 500 gram Chicken
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 medium Carrot
  • 2 medium Potato
  • 1 cup Frozen Peas
  • 1 cup Chicken Stock
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 4 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 unit Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large pan, heat butter over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent.
  3. Add chicken and cook until browned. Remove chicken from pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add carrots and potatoes. Cook until slightly tender.
  5. Add frozen peas and cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Return the chicken to the pan and add chicken stock. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
  7. In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  8. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until thickened.
  9. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  10. Pour the sauce over the chicken and vegetable mixture. Stir to combine.
  11. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  12. Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface and place it over the filling. Trim the edges and press to seal.
  13. Brush the pastry with beaten egg.
  14. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
  15. Allow the pie to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
