Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
-
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
-
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just blended.
-
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Smooth the tops with a spatula.
-
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
Remove from the oven and let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it begins to steam. Remove from heat and add the chocolate. Let it sit for a minute, then whisk until smooth.
-
Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Pour half of the chocolate ganache over the cake and spread it evenly. Place the second cake layer on top and pour the remaining ganache over it.
-
Refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour to allow the ganache to set.
-
Before serving, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar.
-
Enjoy your delicious Boston Cream Pie!
