Ingredients
  • 2 cup Raisins
  • 2 cup Water
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1.5 cup Sugar
  • 1 unit Egg
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
Instructions
  1. In a saucepan, bring water and raisins to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Drain and reserve 1/2 cup of the liquid.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add egg and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the reserved liquid from the raisins.
  5. Stir in the boiled raisins.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
