  1. In a large saucepan, combine the mixed dried fruits and enough water to cover them. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake tin.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and ground cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  5. Fold in the boiled dried fruits.
  6. Pour the batter into the greased cake tin and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the tin for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
