  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the prunes and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Fold in the cooked prunes.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
