Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 Egg
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the granulated sugar, butter, and egg until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in the milk.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  6. Spread half of the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter in the pan.
  9. Spread the remaining batter over the cinnamon-sugar layer.
  10. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top.
  11. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
  12. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  13. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  14. Serve and enjoy!
