Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent.

Add the beef (or chicken) to the pan and cook until browned.

Add the carrots and peas to the pan and cook for a few minutes.

Sprinkle the flour over the meat and vegetables. Stir well to coat everything evenly.

Slowly pour in the broth and stir until thickened.

Stir in the milk, salt, and black pepper.

Remove from heat and transfer the mixture to a baking dish.

Roll out the puff pastry and place it over the baking dish, covering the filling.

Cut a few slits in the pastry to allow steam to escape.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.

Allow the pot pie to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
