Shepherd’s Pie is traditionally made with lamb, but this version uses ground beef.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Add the onion, carrot, peas, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.

In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.

Gradually whisk in the milk and continue cooking until the mixture thickens.

Stir the milk mixture into the skillet with the ground beef mixture.

Season with salt and pepper.

Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.

Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top.

Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden.
