Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Peel, core, and slice the apples. Place them in the prepared baking dish.

In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the apples.

Melt the butter and drizzle it over the flour mixture.

Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the top.

Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the cake mix.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
