  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baby carriage-shaped cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternating with the milk.
  6. Divide the batter into three bowls and tint each bowl with a different food coloring.
  7. Pour the colored batters into separate sections of the baby carriage-shaped cake pan.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once the cake is completely cooled, trim the top to level it.
  11. Frost the cake with buttercream frosting, covering the entire surface.
