Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 cup Apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Spread half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Top with the chopped apples.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, all-purpose flour, and cold cubed unsalted butter until crumbly. Sprinkle the streusel mixture over the apples.
  6. Spread the remaining batter over the streusel layer.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
