Apple Streusel Cake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a large bowl, mix together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.

Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, vanilla extract, and milk together.

Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.

Spread half of the batter into the prepared cake pan.

Layer sliced apples on top of the batter.

In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, chopped walnuts, and cinnamon.

Sprinkle half of the streusel mixture over the apples.

Repeat the layers with the remaining batter, apples, and streusel mixture.

Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
