  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced
  • 2 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup Brown sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  6. In a separate bowl, toss the diced apples with cinnamon and brown sugar. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the dough.
  7. Crumble the remaining dough over the apple layer.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Allow the bars to cool in the baking dish for 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
