  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
  3. Peel, core, and slice the apples.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  5. Add the sliced apples to the bowl and toss until coated.
  6. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust.
  7. Dot the top of the apples with butter.
  8. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the apples.
  9. Pinch the edges of the crusts together to seal.
  10. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  11. Bake for 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  12. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 60 minutes before serving.
