Peel, core, and slice the apples.

In a bowl, mix the sliced apples, sugar, and cinnamon.

Pour the apple mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the apple mixture.

Slice the butter into thin pieces and place them on top of the cake mix.

Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the butter.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
