In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing well.

Spread half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Arrange half of the apple slices on top.

Repeat with the remaining batter and apple slices.

Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
