Ingredients
  • 3 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoon Warm water
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  2. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. In a separate bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the yeast mixture and buttermilk to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Roll out the dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
  7. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and let them rest for 10 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  9. Bake the biscuits for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
