Shepherd’s pie is traditionally made with lamb, but this version uses ground beef instead.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

In a large frying pan, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

In the same pan, sauté the onion, carrot, and peas until they start to soften.

Add the cooked ground beef back to the pan and stir in the beef stock and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, peel and chop the potatoes. Boil them in salted water until tender.

Drain the potatoes and mash them with butter, milk, salt, and black pepper.

Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown.

Let the shepherd's pie rest for 10 minutes before serving.
