Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together almond flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Fold in the chopped almonds.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. While the cake is baking, prepare the almond praline. In a small saucepan, melt the brown sugar over medium heat. Once melted, stir in the heavy cream and cook for another 2-3 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool.
  7. In a separate bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  8. Once the cake has cooled, spread the mascarpone frosting over the top. Drizzle the almond praline over the frosting.
  9. To make the chocolate bark, spread melted dark chocolate thinly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let it cool and harden, then break into pieces.
  10. Decorate the cake with the chocolate bark pieces. Serve and enjoy!
