Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Fold in the chopped apples and pecans.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
