Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup Whole milk
  • 0.75 cup Hot water
  • 0.5 cup Powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Stir in the hot water until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, dust the top with powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy!
