  3. Place a pineapple ring and a maraschino cherry in each muffin cup. Pour the melted butter and sugar mixture over the pineapple and cherry.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat together the white sugar, egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
