  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the vanilla cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until well combined.

  5. While the cake is baking, prepare the cherry Jello mix according to the package instructions, using the boiling water and cold water.

  7. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cake.
